[00:00:00] Hello, this is the pastoral editorial for March 2024 from the west side church of God 7th day in Oklahoma City. [00:00:11] But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. That's Hebrews eleven six. [00:00:28] In this chapter many people of faith are named. [00:00:32] We would do well to find these people and know their examples and life of faith. As a quick accounting, in the whole Bible we have at least 59 faithful examples of men and women named people of faith. Hebrews 1132 says, for the time would fail me to tell of this project of looking up these people will give us great blessing. [00:01:05] Hebrews twelve one and two says, wherefore seeing we are also compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. [00:01:43] In your recollections, don't forget Esther, prophetess Hulga and Judge Deborah and also jail. In the New Testament, Dorcas or Tabitha portrays a life of good works. [00:01:59] Don't leave out Priscilla, grandmother Lois, Mother Eunice and the elect lady of second John. I wonder how many women conducted the church service by the water that Paul and Luke, et cetera, intended in acts 1613. [00:02:17] There are faithful people not named as the women of acts 114 or Mary Magdalene, John 21 and 18. [00:02:27] Many women are mentioned in Matthew 27 55, Matthew 28 five and mark 1540 to 41. [00:02:36] Don't you want your name written in God's book of remembrance? [00:02:42] Malachi 316 to 18 states that they that feared the Lord spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened and heard it. And a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord and that thought upon his name. [00:03:01] And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts in that day when I make up my jewels and I will spare them as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. You can and one day you will hear Jesus say, well done, thou good and faithful servant. [00:03:34] Ed Lewin, retired pastor.
