[00:00:00] In our service to the Lord. We are serving others on the platter. You know, we're serving Heavenly Father, serving the Lord Jesus Christ to people. We are Christ to people that don't know what's going on.
[00:00:16] We are what Christ should be here, but he's not. We're in his place. We're his hands, his feet and so on for anyway, the first song that we sang at 11:00, I thought, oh my, that fits the sermon so well. And by now I can't remember it anymore, what that song was about. But the second one, I grabbed the book and brought it with me. And the song that was stuck in the back, victory in Jesus. And in my sermon, there's this place where I use victory three times.
[00:00:53] Okay. I think it's going to fit very nicely. So if you remember the song Victory in Jesus, that'll be a nice memory to add to what the Scripture has to say.
[00:01:07] So that'll help. I brought this paper only because this is available. That has been many years in the making.
[00:01:15] But Pearl's really good at spreadsheets and it's shrunk a little bit, so I might have to use a magnifying glass. But this is the last week or thereabouts maybe part of a week before Jesus'death and resurrection and a little bit after his resurrection, but all the Bible verses are there.
[00:01:38] And I was running through my mind the three days and three nights and people get it all mixed up. They want a night and then a day and a night again and then rise in the morning. And where's the three days and three nights that the Bible talks about, that was Jesus'testimony, that he was the true Messiah, and he would be three days and three nights in the grave.
[00:02:03] If he's not there, we're in big trouble. Got the wrong Messiah. So this is available, readily available online or photocopy it. So it's real easy to get you a copy of that.
[00:02:18] So the thought is the wounds of Jesus.
[00:02:24] And first, that seems to be a strange way of wording thing, the wounds of Jesus. But I think when I get done with the verses from the Old Testament and the New Testament, you'll say, oh, yes, there was wounds at various stages, different kinds of wounds that Jesus had to suffer. And of course we know that he died on the cross and there's wounds involved with that. So I've got this laptop here that I'm going to try to read some from because the print is fairly large, little larger than this, but it'll take me a second to get there.
[00:03:02] It's going to be Luke 24. So if you want to take your to get that out of the way, if you want to look up with me on Luke 24 and I will get there eventually. Let's see. Okay, it's got to work. Okay. It always amazes me that most of the time my laptop is weird about trying to work. And somebody said, well, that's because the upgrades were on on Tuesday and you never used it since Tuesday.
[00:03:50] Okay, so just a moment and I'll make sure I get the chapter verse here, looking right into the light.
[00:04:02] Okay.
[00:04:03] And 24. Luke 24.
[00:04:25] Getting old is no joke, no fun.
[00:04:29] Luke 24.
[00:04:31] And I think it decided to do its own thing. Yeah, it's off somewhere in another world.
[00:04:39] Let me try again. Oops, this one, this one.
[00:04:43] Luke 24, not 224.
[00:04:49] And then verse 36 wasn't anywhere close to that. Neither.
[00:04:59] 36 may have to pearl is telling me I ought to read it from the Bible, I think, is what she's saying.
[00:05:06] Move the light out of the way. That's an idea. Okay.
[00:05:11] And then it puts that in right in the middle of my writing. Okay, let's put it in. I don't care where that goes, but just not in front of me. Okay.
[00:05:21] 36. Luke.
[00:05:31] Wow.
[00:05:33] 24 36. I think I'm there.
[00:05:37] Okay, I'm there. The print is a little larger than my Bible text, but if you follow along with me in Luke 24 and verse 36 going to go down a little ways. So I thought maybe the bigger print would be helpful.
[00:05:52] It starts off in verse 36, and they said, Thus spake Jesus himself stood in the midst of them.
[00:06:06] I said it was going to be easier. I doubt it.
[00:06:12] I get double images on things and two eyes deciding which one might be in charge.
[00:06:24] I'll make sure I've got double access here to some of this 24 and 36.
[00:06:41] Okay, whichever will work for me. I'll just grab it from there. So luke 24 36.
[00:06:53] And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in their midst of them and saith unto them, peace be unto you.
[00:07:05] They were without Jesus for a while. Here already, this is the last chapter of Luke. And Jesus had been there, and they weren't sure where he was at the moment, whether he was coming back soon or leaving more, and so on. As you read the the very end of Jesus'time on, it must have been very lonely for them, wondering if they were going to see Him again. And they kind of got depressed.
[00:07:30] And Jesus said, I guess it was Peter that said, I go fishing.
[00:07:42] Oh, yes, I forgot this. This is a good thing to have, too. Magnifying glass and reading from my regular Bible. I have lots of marks, blue lines and other things to help me see better or to think, remember what was there. Where? On the computer. It's a little bigger, but there's nothing else with.
[00:08:10] Okay.
[00:08:12] So anyway, if you remember, Peter said, I go fishing.
[00:08:20] He's pretty depressed, I guess. Where's Jesus? What's happening next? What's going on? What are we expected to do now? We still got to feed our mouth. We still have to eat. We still have to have a place to live.
[00:08:32] What's happening jesus is not here. So he was somewhat depressed. So when Jesus shows up and he says, Peace be unto you, you can imagine that meant something.
[00:08:43] They needed peace. They needed comfort.
[00:08:49] But they were terrified and affrighted. That's a double word kind of mixed together. They were afraid. What is going on?
[00:09:01] The Jews wanted to kill him. The Romans would like to be rid of him. There's problems going on. Now what do we do?
[00:09:09] And they supposed that they had seen a spirit.
[00:09:16] They didn't know what a spirit would look like except the ones that Jesus cast out of people. And there was pretty big problems with that idea, so they were concerned of what's going on.
[00:09:32] And He Jesus said unto them, why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? What are you thinking? Why are you thinking those things?
[00:09:45] Behold my hands and my feet.
[00:09:50] Check me out. I've got some identification marks.
[00:09:55] I do have something.
[00:09:57] I have wounds.
[00:09:59] That it is I myself making sure they know who he is, that he's not a ghosty thing that came along or evil thing that came along.
[00:10:11] They needed to identify Jesus.
[00:10:15] Handle me.
[00:10:17] Now, if you're afraid of whatever has just happened, that he's there in front of you, you're not sure you want to touch this thing, whatever it is, and see. For a spirit hath not flesh.
[00:10:30] AHA, that's identification for us as well. You run into something you don't understand, you think about, what is this? What does it look like? How does this behave? What kind of fruit does it bear? Is this a real spirit? Is this from God? Or is this something else? So he says, it is me. I'm here. Handle me. In one. John. Chapter one. I handled him. I touched him.
[00:10:57] Oh, yeah.
[00:10:59] Jesus said, Come on, touch me and see, for his spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me. Do you imagine shaking hands with Jesus?
[00:11:12] He's got wounds in his hands, but when you take a handshake, he's got muscles, he's got bones. Okay, so this is really Him as you see me have. Okay, he's got those things.
[00:11:31] I think I'm going to do without this too. It seems like I'm getting more glare.
[00:11:38] And he said, and when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. What is he showing him here's? My foot here's? No, it's the wounds that he's showing. Right. The marks in his hands. Wounds in his hands and feet.
[00:12:01] And while they yet believe not for joy, now that they switched from being afraid of Him. Can you imagine? This is him. This is really him. Yeah. They were for joy and wondered. And he said unto them, have ye hear any meat?
[00:12:20] You realize this is a real crux of if you're in the New Know you've been changed in the twinkling of an eye, will you be eating food? Well, Jesus did.
[00:12:33] Jesus ate food and they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and a honeycomb, and he took it and did eat before them. And he said unto them, these are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you when he was alive and walking with them in the streets and so on, and preaching and so on, being in the temple while I was with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses. And some people don't. Law of Moses.
[00:13:12] Actually, this just means those first five books that Moses wrote, whatever's in there, you need to know that's what he's saying, those things that were written must be fulfilled. If you can very easily look at a list and you're going to have about 45 things that Jesus fulfilled, you need to know that that's the real Messiah, that's really Him, that he was doing these things.
[00:13:39] And it was written in the Law and in the prophets and in the Psalms concerning Jesus. We need to know those.
[00:13:50] Wow. Wow, that's great.
[00:13:55] And then he opened their minds, their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures.
[00:14:03] He didn't say, Here, I got a new list for you.
[00:14:06] Just came back. I got to change something. I changed my mind. Here's a new list. He showed them what was already in the Scriptures, that they should have known of this already, and then said unto them, thus it is written, and thus behooved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead. The third day.
[00:14:31] This cannot be any clear. What part of the third day do you not understand?
[00:14:36] This is the way it's going to be three days.
[00:14:42] And the repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations. Some people say, well, this has got a blessing on this one. That one gets a pat on the back because he says such and such a nation no beginning first at Jerusalem. So they start here, build your base. And then other places said, Go to Jerusalem, go to Judea, go to Samaria, go to the uttermost part of the world.
[00:15:13] That's the way it was supposed to go. Start small, build to the whole world. Everybody is in this, everybody's involved.
[00:15:22] And ye shall be witnesses of these things.
[00:15:28] They wrote it down because they were witnesses. They wrote it down. But you must know that you are the witness.
[00:15:35] Tell them, I was there. I saw him. I touched him. I handled him. That's what John first john says. First John, chapter one, verse one. I was there. I touched him, I handled him.
[00:15:48] And then he says to them, and behold, I send the promise of your Father upon you, but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high. So this is just a little teeny bit left here. You got to go to the Book of acts.
[00:16:09] That's where the church continues, where this book continues. You've got four lessons, four people telling the same witness about Jesus. Then you go to the Book of Acts and now what are they going to do? They're going to grow. They're going to start going to the other places, speaking to people, witnessing about Jesus.
[00:16:29] So there's a blessing. Let me clear the plate here a little bit because I can kind of see that this guy's either going to go to sleep or not be helpful.
[00:16:39] And I think I'll be a lot better off just using the Bible and my poor eyesight. The left eye sees gray now, but it's not black.
[00:16:48] And the right eye is 2020, so I think we can handle it.
[00:16:52] Okay, so I want to start again talking about this, about the grace that Jesus brought, wonderful grace, a wonderful value system that he had. And the victory that we saw in Jesus we can see in us. We're going to be able to receive that as well.
[00:17:12] And the wounds and blemishes will be all gone away one day. But Jesus kept his.
[00:17:20] You think, well, why didn't they heal up in so many days?
[00:17:24] But then you start looking at Scriptures where he is still identified later as a lamb that was slain.
[00:17:31] How come they can tell that?
[00:17:34] Because he didn't change.
[00:17:36] He's still able to help us and we're going to identify Him. We're going to know him.
[00:17:43] So for us, all sicknesses and blemishes will be removed. We'll be back to a beautiful, perfect life, you might say, that we should have in Jesus Christ, but he retained his turn with me to Revelations five.
[00:18:02] That'll help for the moment.
[00:18:05] Revelation, chapter five.
[00:18:09] And then we'll find some more in a little bit. Chapter five and verse six.
[00:18:18] And I beheld and lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts and of the midst of the elders stood a lamb identified as a lamb.
[00:18:33] Something said, this is not the Know. You'd expect Jesus coming as a king with a stripe down the leg, lord of Lords, King of Kings. What's he going to look like? What was he seeing here? What was John the Revelator seeing? He saw something that looked like a lamb, at least. He identified of this Messiah, the Savior, as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes and seven spirits of Know. When you start reading this, you say, what is this? Well, we're not expected to know this. It's just going to be a shocker when we start seeing some things like this. But we're on the other side already by then, right?
[00:19:15] We're already accepted into Christ's kingdom, but we're going to see these things.
[00:19:21] And he came and took the Book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne. So now Jesus is holding the book.
[00:19:32] And when he had taken the Book, the four beasts and four and 20 elders fell down before the Lamb, Jesus Christ having every one of them a harp, a golden vial full of odors, and the prayers of the saints, you start seeing something happening, something that you got to pay attention. You got to stay with it. And they sang a new song that'll be neat saying thou art worthy to take the book and to open the seals thereof for thou wast slain and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, tongue and people and nation, every country is allowed in every country is equal in accepting Christ as their savior. And the rewards and things that are going to be given, every country is allowed and has made us to our God kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth.
[00:20:39] Usually that's left out. You'll just leave the last half a dozen words out. Where are you going to be reigning in heaven?
[00:20:48] On the earth. We're going to reign on the earth. Got to watch those. There's at least two strong places like that that talk about us reigning on the earth with Jesus Christ. When we meet Him, we're going to meet Him where in the clouds belong to the earth and the air that belongs to the earth.
[00:21:10] We're going to meet Him in the clouds and the air here on earth. And then we'll stay with Him, serve with Him a thousand years after that. Like my old pastor in Canada said, heaven's a good place. If they want us to go, I'll go.
[00:21:27] He's not going to turn down an invitation. But first we want text. We want scripture identification of those words to be said.
[00:21:38] Okay?
[00:21:41] Son of God allowed the wounds which he could have removed himself afterwards or healed himself or avoided the problem with them, but he accepted the wounds.
[00:21:53] He has power to erase them when the right time comes, if need to be. Otherwise, why bother? But his death is an identification mark. I'm going to talk about that a little bit more, too. He suffered for you and I, but he's got an identification as to who he is, what makes him valid. The policeman out the window says, Show me your valid driver's license.
[00:22:22] Yeah, we need to have a valid marking on us.
[00:22:28] The six six. Six is a marking that some people are going to have, and that's a bad one.
[00:22:34] The other marking of Jesus Christ, what are they going to be?
[00:22:38] Okay. Have we had wounds that we could identify with Christ?
[00:22:46] So we want to look at some things that the wounds and talk about them first.
[00:22:58] Wounds of Jesus were an identifying mark, but they had an effect on the disciples. It calmed them right away.
[00:23:06] When they saw the wounds of Jesus Christ, they identified with Him and were able to know that he was the real person. And that's in that Luke 24 and the verses that I read was pretty well the same here from 36 to 40 to 48. I think I got all the way down to 48 probably on that one, but if not, grab it and read down there too. Yes, I did finish it to 48.
[00:23:34] Okay.
[00:23:37] And Jesus identified himself with some other words and ways of speaking that they understood. And he said, it is I, it's me, I'm here, take heart. You know, this is the same Jesus that you deserted.
[00:23:54] They all ran away. Remember in the garden? They all ran, left Jesus later, Peter stuck by, and John stuck by. But where were the others? They weren't named.
[00:24:08] So they deserted Jesus at one point. And it's sort of I'm the real guy. And then what about Thomas? In chapter 20, John, chapter 20, John 20 and verse 24, 20 and 24, Thomas, there was time when Jesus came and Thomas wasn't there. And then there was a time when Thomas was there. So in verse 24 so this is chapter 20, John 2024. And I want to read a couple of verses here down to 29.
[00:24:50] But Thomas, one of the twelve called Didymus was not with them when Jesus came. So there it's kind of clearing up. Otherwise how do we need that far back in the story? But the first time Thomas wasn't there, the other disciples therefore said unto him, thomas, we have seen the Lord. And he is saying, oh, yeah, no, he just wanted proof.
[00:25:19] But he said unto them, except I see Him in his hands and the prints of the nails. If I don't see in his hands the prints of the nails and put my finger in the print of the nails, not only seeing them, he wanted to touch them. And thus my hand in his side, I will not believe.
[00:25:44] Tough statement, hard statement. But you know, it's actually really good because if he had just fallen for anything, he'd fall for the good, fall for the bad.
[00:25:54] He said, oh, no. He said, I got to see this. I got to touch it, I got to feel it. I got to understand that this is real.
[00:26:02] Okay? Then in verse 26 and after eight days again, the disciples were within in a room, closed in, and they actually kept the doors locked. Yeah, it says that here too. But they kept them locked because of the Jews could come in and make trouble and so on. They had to watch out who was allowed in at this point, the doors being shut and stood in the midst. Jesus came and stood in the midst and said, peace be unto you. That's what his normal greeting, peace be unto you. So they could kind of identify with that already.
[00:26:38] And then he then saith he to Thomas, reach, hither thy finger. Here's my hand. Where's your finger?
[00:26:50] And behold my hands to see if they're both identified the same way. And reach, hither thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not faithless, but believing.
[00:27:07] Jesus was going to make sure that Thomas was not left as a maybe a guy that didn't really believe too strongly. No, you come put your hand right here.
[00:27:20] You believe. I want you to be a believer, really believing a witness that really was there, that sort of thing. Okay.
[00:27:31] Verse 28. And Thomas answered and said unto him, my Lord and my God. He realized, wow, who am I dealing with?
[00:27:41] This is really him. This is the Messiah. The son of God.
[00:27:46] He's from the God families. Wow.
[00:27:49] And Jesus said unto him, thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet believe.
[00:28:02] So there is a blessing for anybody that comes and says, okay, I'll believe what was written. I believe the heavenly Father kept this record perfect so that the words would be correct for hundreds and hundreds of years.
[00:28:15] That's true. You can prove that they can go back through the Greek they can go back through the Hebrew and find these words. They can identify that this is truly the word of God, to be identified and saved all those years. So another way of the wounds, his wounds were the theme of the eternal wonder to the angels.
[00:28:37] And I thought then, too, oh, it talked about the heavenly hosts.
[00:28:43] Okay, so they know as well.
[00:28:47] The angels saw him leave heaven.
[00:28:54] They were there. They knew the whole story. Right. Oh, the Son's going to do this, the sun's going to do that. The angels were a record of it, but they didn't write we don't have angels books writing and had gone with him. How far did they manage to go with Jesus on his way to earth?
[00:29:12] They sang at his birth.
[00:29:15] Wow. Okay. The angels were involved through all of the Bible. Angels were involved. They sang at his birth. Some watched while he was upon earth. And Timothy first timothy, chapter three, verse 16.
[00:29:40] Timothy, chapter three.
[00:29:43] And verse 15 and 16.
[00:29:54] I guess it's read 15 and 16.
[00:30:00] But if I tarry long, if he doesn't come back real quick, that thou mayest know how thou shouldest behave thyselves in the household of so, you know, Paul talking to Timothy, and Timothy is the younger church leader, and he's trying to give him some advice, and he's saying, so what if I don't come back right away? Well, he suffered the same problem because Jesus didn't come back right away. Jesus is still gone at this place at this point, but Paul himself is saying, what if I don't come back as quickly as you might like, but what will you do in the meantime, I guess, is what it's saying there. Tarry long. What if he tarried long that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyselves and thyself in the house of God, which is in the church of the living God, the pillar and the grounding of the faith.
[00:31:05] So he's making sure that that is told to Timothy, and without controversy.
[00:31:13] Great is the mystery of Godliness.
[00:31:19] God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles and believed on in the world, received up into glory. It's a short package of things that happened with Jesus, but I want Timothy to really know that this did exist. And identifying and approving. The angel saw too. They were not blind. They saw what was going on.
[00:31:50] Okay, let's keep going.
[00:31:54] At this point, I had a marker in the margin about what could be looked up. At this point, I don't think I'll look those all up, but John four, john one and verse 14 talks about the same thing in Matthew six, Matthew 316 and 17. Another verse on seeing Christ and knowing that he was here, that the angels were watching and seeing what's going on.
[00:32:23] Matthew 28 two.
[00:32:26] Everybody's watching. Everybody's doing this. This is what you need to be doing. And Luke, chapter two, verse 13 and Luke 24 four. It's all about the same kind of thing, that there's people watching, there's people identifying, there's people that are witnesses to what's going on. You might want to look those up.
[00:32:45] They're in my center reference. There's no big deal on that. But then let's look too at the wounds from Zechariah 13.
[00:32:55] Now this would be a prophecy, right?
[00:32:58] Because it's in the Old Testament.
[00:33:11] And we want chapter 13 and verse six.
[00:33:17] Verse six.
[00:33:20] And one shall say unto him, what are these wounds in thy hands?
[00:33:27] Wow.
[00:33:30] Then he shall answer, those are which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
[00:33:40] You take that to the New Testament and say, does that fit here anywhere? Of course it does.
[00:33:46] His own home, his homeland, his own town didn't accept him, more or less. Get out of here. You're just a child of so and so. And who gives you the right to just surmise what they were doing to Jesus? Then when he was in Jerusalem?
[00:34:04] Crucify him. Crucify him. Supposed to be his family line from King David.
[00:34:11] Why was he born in Bethlehem? Because he was from the family of David, King David.
[00:34:18] They rejected him. They hated him, crucify him. And they asked for the bad guy to be let go.
[00:34:27] Let him loose.
[00:34:29] Okay, let's go to another thought here. The wounds are trophies, and I brought something along. We all like trophies, don't we?
[00:34:37] I got a mug also. I'm an amateur radio operator, so they sent me this thing I could wear.
[00:34:45] I got my ham radio license on there, and I got a mug this last year because they're 100 years old. A magazine is 100 years old. And so we like trophies. Don't we have a case sometimes covered with glass? Keep the dust out and you got your trophies in there. What are the trophies actually? The wounds for Jesus.
[00:35:06] It's identifying marks of who he is, what he has done for us. So we have trophies in our life for sports. Wow, there's enough of those around, isn't there? All over the world for Worldly Games and Worldly this, worldly that, movies. Everybody's got a plaque for something rather or a trophy from having done something. Television worlds of business and professional. Everybody's got a trophy of something.
[00:35:33] Yeah, I've even got a hat with SCM on it. Now that's got a totally different meaning. I'm not sure I like that.
[00:35:41] It was the three initials of the bosses that started the company that I worked for. It's got something to do with Washington DC. Now, I guess. But everybody has something that they wear. How about a Purple Heart? Some people have a thing they wear once in a while, maybe once a year, remembrance Day. And it's got a ribbon and purple, it's made from purple. Something else hanging down. A heavy metal type thing hanging down. Everybody likes trophies. What are Jesus trophies?
[00:36:14] Trophies of victory in Jesus. Okay, so let's look at Revelation chapter one.
[00:36:30] Revelation, chapter one.
[00:36:39] And I want 17 and 18.
[00:36:45] And when I saw him, fell at his feet as dead, and he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, fear not, I am the first and the last.
[00:37:00] Wow, that really identifies who he is, isn't he? He spoke, I am he that liveth and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And have the keys to hell and death.
[00:37:23] The trophies that he's got, he's got these keys to the city kind of thing, but he's got these keys that are usually make them really big and they don't fit anything for the keys to a city. But he's got the keys to just over here to hell, the grave and death. Dying or not dying, he's got the keys. That's his trophies for Jesus. He had lived at one time. Yeah, he lived twice. We kind of get the same thing too, don't we? We die and are resurrected.
[00:38:06] So we've lived before and was dead. Jesus was dead. He was not half dead. Somebody said, well, he was there, he just wasn't moving or wait a minute. Now this Bible says he was dead.
[00:38:23] Heavenly Father got him back up, said, I've got the right to lay my life down and pick it up again, but that's through the Heavenly Father.
[00:38:33] So the Heavenly Father brought him back to life.
[00:38:36] I am alive, that's for sure. They had all these witnesses and all these other things going on at his grave and at his resurrection, and it's gone to heaven. The writings of him being sitting at the right hand of the Father about four times. It says that in the Bible, that he's sitting at the right hand of the Father.
[00:38:53] Wow, he's alive.
[00:38:56] So, yes, those are trophies for Jesus.
[00:39:01] Let's go to first. Corinthians one. Corinthians.
[00:39:09] This is where I found those three all in one place.
[00:39:15] One corinthians chapter 15.
[00:39:20] Yep, chapter 15 and 54, which is quite a ways down. Yeah, I had to start at 54 to the end of the chapter kind of thing. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall the saying then shall be brought to pass. The saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory. So we sing that song, Victory in Jesus. This is a victory, and it's in the Old Testament.
[00:39:56] I got a little number beside it and it says, Isaiah 25, verse eight. You can check back and forth, cross reference if this is an Old Testament verse, that he's going to have victory over death. And 54, 55 says, O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
[00:40:18] You're not going to win death, you're not going to get it, the grave's not going to win.
[00:40:24] So we have victory through Jesus. There's a little number there as well in the margin, and actually Margin says hell for grave, the same words, they're just translating problems with English and Greek and so on, no problem, we understand both, but that's victory over the grave and victory over death.
[00:40:47] 56, thy sting, O death is sin.
[00:40:52] That's the main problem.
[00:40:56] And the strength of sin is the law.
[00:41:00] If you had a wishywashy law, you wouldn't be able to have a good judgment.
[00:41:04] Somebody could fake it.
[00:41:07] Okay, in 57, but thanks be to God, which has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. There's the third time victory.
[00:41:18] Wow.
[00:41:20] So, yeah, I wanted to be sure and get that in there. 57 is the last time of the three words of victory in our Lord Jesus Christ. That's where our victory is. Okay, moving on to another thought, the wounds again, sin. Romans four with me to Romans chapter four.
[00:41:46] I put little papers in here to help me.
[00:41:49] They go faster, but Romans chapter four and verse 25, who was delivered for our offenses, he was taken to court, he was deemed worthy of death, and they put him to cross, put him on the cross and was raised again for our justification.
[00:42:16] Jesus knew that he was forgiving sins, he was able to defend us and forgive us and call us back and so on. That's a trophy as well that he's got. He's over sin, jesus wins over sin.
[00:42:33] Satan in Hebrews chapter two.
[00:42:36] Let's see what Hebrews chapter two has to say.
[00:42:45] It Hebrews chapter two and 14 and 15. Hebrews chapter 214 and 15.
[00:42:59] Inasmuch.
[00:43:02] Then as the children are partakers of the flesh and the blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that hath the power of death. That is the devil.
[00:43:25] Jesus has the power over Satan. He's got the power over the grave, he's got the power over the damage that Satan could do. Jesus has that power over death and the devil power has it. He's got it. Verse 15. And deliver them who were through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
[00:43:49] So many people are afraid of death.
[00:43:55] It actually makes a mockery in the Christian world.
[00:43:58] Because if you're a Christian, why are you afraid to die? You're going to go to heaven right away. You're going to get your reward right away. So why are you afraid to die?
[00:44:06] Because it's not complete story that they're trusting in. They're trusting in a falsey fake story so they can't get the halt of the victory. If you look at the other side and say, we're going to be changed into twinkle of an eye when Jesus comes back, we're going to rise up to meet him in the air. We're going to be working on this earth as kings and priests and so on. In one chapter it says that I always think of where it is on the page, but those things are true and we trust in that, that we're going to be back, we're going to be alive. There is a future, we're sure of it. We have that validity in our minds and so we don't have a fear of this. All of their life they've been in fear, fear of dying. Why we should be looking forward to Jesus coming as King of kings and Lord of Lords.
[00:44:59] If you do wrong, of course you'll be scared.
[00:45:04] If you're an evildoer or bad person, yeah, you're going to be afraid of what's going to happen in the future.
[00:45:12] How about Acts, chapter two? Let's go to Acts chapter two, chapter two.
[00:45:27] And verse 22 22, acts 222. Ye men of Israel, hear these words, jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God. There's a trophy for you among you, by miracles, by wonders, by signs. These are all like trophies that he's got in a cabinet, which God did by him who did it, jesus. Or they understand this is Heavenly Father ruling over all of this god did by him. In the midst of you, and ye are yourselves also know you've seen it, you lived here, this is your plan, this is your city. Jesus was here and he's been approved. Him being delivered by the determinate, counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain. It's not the Romans, you did it.
[00:46:35] Isn't that something? Can't blame it on the Romans. Yeah, they had the machinery and they had this, they had that, they had authority. But who was crying, crucify him, crucify him.
[00:46:46] The Jews were. He said you did it. Whom God hath raised up. He said, okay, you don't believe in Jesus, but that's who God raised up. He raised up Jesus from the dead. He raised him up having loosed the pains of death, not just the pain of dying and the pain of being in a stone place where it's cold or not, that he raised Him up the pains of real death because it was not possible that he should beholden of it.
[00:47:22] The story cannot fit, does not work. If you have Jesus die and stays there.
[00:47:31] You have to go on with the rest of the book. What happened to Jesus? He came back. He ate food with him. He was around with Him for 40 days or thereabouts. And there was how many people saw Him? 150 people were witnesses of Him being alive after being dead.
[00:47:47] Okay? This is like Paul said to the king Agrippa. He said, this wasn't done in a corner.
[00:47:57] This wasn't hidden. Everybody knows about this, and you know about it as well, the wounds.
[00:48:06] How about John, chapter five? Turn with me to John.
[00:48:10] John, chapter five.
[00:48:15] And chapter three, chapter five. John, chapter five.
[00:48:27] And I want verse 26 and 27.
[00:48:37] For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in Himself. Whoa.
[00:48:49] Do you realize that Jesus received that from the Heavenly Father? He didn't come with it. He received it.
[00:48:57] The father hath life in himself. That's true. Everything is in the father.
[00:49:03] So he hath given to the Son heavenly Father gave to the Son that he would have life in Himself, in Jesus Christ in verse 27. And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also because he is the Son of man. Jesus has a dual job, a dual identification.
[00:49:29] And the Heavenly Father knew that ahead of time. He's got that all planned out. It's all ready to go. Has been working.
[00:49:36] So Jesus now has been given authority to be the judge, to execute judgment because he's got a dual job. He's the Son of man, connected with people on earth and with the Heavenly Father. He's connected with the Heavenly Father, but he's got authority both ways. That's really solid proof, isn't it, that he is who he said he was and that he's got God's approval on it.
[00:50:05] What about those that don't accept that? A few more words in John chapter three. I put big yellow paper so that I could find it in a hurry. Actually, I just ran out of the little white ones.
[00:50:18] Okay, john, chapter three and verse 18.
[00:50:38] So if you accept Christ as your Savior and are baptized, you follow some basic standards, and so you believe on Him thoroughly and understand it. You're not condemned.
[00:50:50] You can say, I don't have to worry about that anymore. Satan get behind me.
[00:50:56] But he that believeth not, wishy washy, not understanding, believeth not, is condemned already, hasn't given up the old way, hasn't gotten rid of it. That song that we sang, I paid the debt long ago, he didn't take care of that because he had not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. The name is very, very powerful and he's the Son of God. If you don't believe in that, you're in big trouble.
[00:51:30] How about verse 36 in this same chapter? He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life, everlasting life.
[00:51:41] And he that believeth not in the Son, in the Son shall not cede life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
[00:51:55] The understanding of being in the graces of the Heavenly Father or not, that's plain enough to see. If you're in, you're in sin can be eradicated, can be forgiven. You'll have eternal life. But if you don't believe that, you're on your own, so you're not going to have eternal life.
[00:52:18] Okay, one more verse here, revelation, chapter 20.
[00:52:29] Revelation, chapter 20.
[00:52:34] And I'm wanting 14 and 15.
[00:52:45] Okay, the Judgment day is here. And when you read this chapter, Satan's been loosed and he tries to rally the people together. He tries to attack the Old Jerusalem. The old Jerusalem tries to attack.
[00:53:01] He doesn't get away with it.
[00:53:04] Fire and hail and so on come down from God, stops him, and all those people are put in a death pattern, I guess you'd say tortured. I wouldn't want to be naming how and how long or whatever.
[00:53:20] Just don't be there. We just don't want to be there. We don't want to be with Satan, don't want to be on that side. And the bad things that are going to happen there, we don't want. We want blessings. So then there's the White Throne judgment at verse eleven.
[00:53:35] White throne judgment.
[00:53:38] We can say this is Jesus, because we just read a verse that Jesus is the judge. Jesus will judge.
[00:53:45] If it's Heavenly Father, it doesn't make any difference. But we can say this is Jesus.
[00:53:50] And everybody backed away from him because they know what kind of power he's got.
[00:53:55] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books were opened. You read extra other places where Jesus opened the books. Jesus had the keys to open the books.
[00:54:09] They're going to look in the books.
[00:54:12] And another book was open, which was the Book of Life.
[00:54:15] One of your deeds, your work that you've done for the Lord, what did you do in serving Heavenly Father? And the other one is the Book of Life.
[00:54:25] Have you accepted Christ as your savior?
[00:54:28] So that's the two books and the dead.
[00:54:33] Now there's some people already alive, right?
[00:54:37] They've changed into twinkling of an eye.
[00:54:40] They're all right. They've already got their spiritual body, they're okay. But the other dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works. And what do your churches say today?
[00:54:53] Works doesn't count. Don't have to worry about no worries, don't do any works.
[00:54:59] Wait a minute. Works is all over the New Testament, definitely here at the end as well. According to their works, they're judged by what they did. And then the sea gave up the dead. So you can't hide by dying on board ship and being buried in water and eaten up by fish and so on. You can't hide that way, which were in it. This ocean gave up its dead and death and hell delivered up the dead. There's no hiding in any kind of grave or house fire or there's no hiding from God. They had to give up the dead and they were judged, every man according to their works.
[00:55:39] The righteous would not be there.
[00:55:43] Righteous were changed in the twinkle of your eye when the trumpet blew.
[00:55:47] So this is only the bad pace. There's really no need for a judgment.
[00:55:51] It's already been separated. Sheep and goats, right?
[00:55:55] Those that were changed in the twinkling of an eye and those that didn't. You've already got a dividing.
[00:56:03] But just in case, everybody wants to know for sure, to make sure that they didn't escape by death or by grave or by something else. And death and hell, those names even were cast into the lake of fire. There's going to be no such thing as death, no such thing as hell or grave after this point. No such thing. Words won't exist.
[00:56:28] This is the second death.
[00:56:31] This is the second time that something happens to people.
[00:56:35] The first time they're changed into twinkling of an eye. After you die, stay dead for whatever till Jesus comes. A trumpet blows and then the dead in Christ rise.
[00:56:47] They don't have to go here. And it mentions that in this chapter that you don't go down to this far in the story.
[00:56:55] If you're right, you're right. If you're wrong, you're wrong.
[00:56:59] The wicked are not going to go past into the kingdom. Verse 15 and whosoever was not found in the book of life doesn't say they found anybody.
[00:57:15] They searched. They did look in the books. They never found anybody.
[00:57:19] That's not the way to salvation.
[00:57:23] Way of salvation was accepting Christ as your Savior.
[00:57:27] Yeah, but they did look. Whatsoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
[00:57:36] Wow.
[00:57:37] We need to be very thorough about our Savior, Jesus Christ and our love for Him and our way of serving Him and righteousness to be believed.
[00:57:49] God bless you.
[00:57:51] Let the wounds of Jesus tell you that he's real.
[00:57:55] Thank you, us.
